One Big Bull Frog!

So the kids and I caught a huge bull frog the other night. Put him in a cooler to show Daddy when he was done skiing. Well Daddy came back back we opened the cooler and the bugger jumped out and right back into the lake! Both kids cried, I told them I would catch him again. Well tonight not only did we catch another one, but this guy was bigger!! They are so beautiful, and no I did not really have my lips on him. Looks like I did. I am not looking for a new Prince :)

Super Model Chet!

Our boat has a wonderful feature for early mornings ski sets, or for when the sun starts to sink below the horizon taking her warm rays with her. The boat heater gets pulled out. Chef has fallen in love with it. Very cute!

Fresh Hay, Ponies and little ladies, and some new Garden work.

Louisa is doing really great with Pretzel. She can pick up his feet and clean them, brush him and of course love on him. It has been so hot be she just keeps riding him. She is so funny, lets me put the saddle on then tells me she would like me to take it off after a few minutes so she can ride bareback. She does very well. Time to weed the round pen though….too tempting for ponies to eat grass. Scott has been working on a few new things in the garden it is coming along nice.

Seal for supper

I was playing with the kids after supper when I saw this guy stop mid flight and dive down into the rocks. I grabbed my camera and took off like a shot to the neighbors pier. I tiptoed down to the shore looking for him. Then I head some feathers ruffle and he jumped up on the rock and looked at me. I saw a young dead seal that he was dining on. He was a young one due to the speckles on his head and tail. Very neat!! This i such a beautiful island.

Sonny the 82 year old Lobsterman who lives next to my Mum and Ev, had this snazzy lobster boat parked at his pier today. Pretty sure it is named after his granddaughter.

A Day of Lobstahn'

One of Mum and Ev's true SALT of the EARTH neighbor Bobby Warren offered to take us out on the SEA BREEZE to check some of his 800 traps. What a treat. We were out from 9:30-1:30. Toured some of our favorite spots around Vinalhaven including Lead Betters Narrow, Crockets Cove, Fox Island Thorofare. Then lobstered off of Dog Fish Island, finished off with seal spotting on the way back to Old Harbor. Kids were all in heaven except Chet out was lulled to sleep by the swaying sea. He slept the whole time in the wheel house. We did bring a Lobster in to snuggle ;)
